PRESENTATION OF THE TOP MANAGER

 

The obesity and diabetes research and application center deals with the applications of preventing, treating and developing new treatment methods for obesity, which is defined as the problem of the century, and the diseases it causes. It has also undertaken the task of raising public awareness and educating them.

 

For this purpose, monthly public trainings were organized in 2024 and health services were provided to many obese people.

 

Studies were conducted during awareness weeks and the center was introduced to people with random measurements.

 

No extra budget was needed and services were provided within the health research and application center.

 

As targets, projects aimed at developing different treatment options were planned.

I. GENERAL INFORMATION

A. Mission and Vision

Mission
To increase knowledge and awareness about obesity and diabetes; to enable new generations to develop healthy eating habits through this awareness; to prevent the development of obesity; and to ensure the multidisciplinary treatment of individuals with obesity. Another mission is to conduct research aimed at defining new diagnostic and treatment methods in this field.

Vision
To fight against obesity and diabetes and prevent their development at regional and national levels.


B. Authority, Duties, and Responsibilities

Within the powers granted by the Constitution of the Republic of Türkiye and the authority given to the Rectorate of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, the appointed Director and Assistant Directors share responsibilities and coordinate the activities of the Research Center accordingly.

Physical Structure

Services are provided within the Health Application and Research Center located in the Ali Şevki Erek campus of our university.

  • 1 nurse and dietitian room

  • 1 psychologist and physiotherapist room

  • 1 examination room

  • 1 faculty member’s office

2 – ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The organizational structure of the Agricultural Practice and Research Unit is determined in accordance with the Regulation of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Obesity and Diabetes Research and Application Center.

Accordingly, the activities of the Center are coordinated by the Director appointed by the Rector, along with assistant directors and other personnel assigned to ensure that the center’s operations run smoothly and efficiently.

6 – MANAGEMENT AND INTERNAL CONTROL SYSTEM

Operating under the Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Rectorate, the Director of the Center manages the hierarchical system of authority and control within the physical and organizational structure. This is done to ensure more efficient use of information, technology, and the duties and responsibilities of all academic and administrative personnel.

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

Numerous studies were conducted within our Research Center. In addition, theoretical and practical training opportunities were provided to medical students, including interns. Practical training areas were made available for research assistant physicians, enabling them to carry out their medical specialization theses.

In 2024, the following community-oriented conferences were held as part of public awareness and education efforts:

By focusing on infrastructure improvements and resolving issues related to workforce, tools, and equipment in line with the center’s activities, it will be possible to establish a sustainable research and application center.
